Randy Pitchford, the boss of Gearbox Software, has announced that they plan to release more campaign DLC for Borderlands 2.

Some of us expected the last DLC, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, also the fourth to be the last DLC in for the title as the season pass only covered four downloads. It seems the studio planned to continue releasing DLC out of the season pass, as Randy Pitchford explained to Nerdist:

"We did a season pass for Borderlands 2 and the season pass was like hey, if you buy the season pass we would be doing four campaign add-ons and you can buy all four of them for the price of three, if you buy upfront. So everyone was under the expectation that those would be the four DLCs and that's it.

"We are going to do more, we are going to do some other things. I don't have details exactly of it yet because were not ready to announce what the other things are, but when the next campaign DLC comes Assault On Dragon Keep not being the end of it.

"We got more stuff in the hopper that we're planning and getting pretty excited about. So if your a Borderlands 2 fan you don't have to be afraid that that's the end of it."Randy Pitchford

There are also reports that Pitchford mentioned plans to develop an original IP for the next-generation consoles, so the Xbox One, but he left no details about the new IP.

We don't yet know when the new DLC is planned for release, but keep an eye out on our site and we will try our best to inform you when more information is available.

Maybe, or they could do a EA and just add 50g a pack

Borderlands has a lot of DLC already, I've not played any of it yet, but they seem to by going overboard with this.

I personally wouldn't say overboard, more like stretching. I think that they might release another Borderlands next Christmas so they'll try to get this one to last till the launch of the new consoles.

There's very few games that get less DLC as the series progresses, so if they follow the trend (and gearbox will) the next time around will have an insane amount of DLC.
